Lecture: "Everything We Have: D-Day 6.6.44"

Dr. Mueuller, along with fellow historian Stephen Ambrose, co-founded the World War II Museum which is ranked as the #3 most popular museum in the nation and #8 in the world. Dr. Mueller was a professor of European History at the University of New Orleans for 33 years. He recently completed work on a new collection of personal accounts from the Allied invasion of Normandy titled, "Everything we Have: 6-6-44," drawing on the Museum's collection of oral histories and artifacts. After Mueller's contributions to the preservation and interpretation of WWII history and his special contributions to public awareness of the D-Day landings in Normandy have resulted in numerous awards, including the French Legion of Honor.

Enjoy flights and a variety of craft beer, games, and music while also learning about brewing beer, including a Q&A session with the owners of Riverwatch Brewery. Back by popular demand is our limited-edition historic beer, Per Simma Down, brewed by Riverwatch Brewery! This persimmon wheat beer is based on a historic recipe from an 1870's cookbook from the Museum's collection.

Jimmie Dyess Symposium

The symposium will include remarks by Major General Perry Smith, who is the son-in-law of Jimmie Dyess. Three individuals will be honored with the Symposium's 2020 Distinguished American Award. Honorees and speakers for 2020 will be announced soon. Immediately after the ceremony, you will have the opportunity to meet and visit with the honorees.

Night at the Museum

The Augusta Museum of History presents the 7th annual Night at the Museum, a fundraiser that supports the Museum's preservation and exhibition efforts. Come experience an evening of mystery at Augusta's very own Night at the Museum, where history comes to life! Guests will be guided through the darkened museum to encounter 10 historical figures from the Augusta region and listen to their stories from the past. The ticket includes performances and a commemorative Night at the Museum glass.
