Monday at the Museum: All About Ga!

This month we're learning the Georgia state emblems! From peanuts to the white tailed deer, there are so many things that represent Georgia! Then we'll make Georgia postcards so everyone can learn about the Peach State. The Augusta Museum of History is offering Monday at the Museum for young children, between 2-6 years old, with a different theme each month. Sessions begins at 10 am. First come first serve up to 20 children per session. A child must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $4.00 per child/ $2 for a member's child. Southern Suds

The Augusta Museum of History, Riverwatch Brewery, and Kruhu are brewing up a fifth year of Southern Suds: Come for the Beer, Stay for the History! Enjoy flights and a variety of craft beer, games, and music while also learning about brewing beer, including a Q&A session with the owners of Riverwatch Brewery. Back by popular demand is our limited-edition historic beer, Per Simma Down, brewed by Riverwatch Brewery! This persimmon wheat beer is based on a historic recipe from an 1870's cookbook from the Museum's collection.

Holiday Gingerbread Village

Each historic-themed gingerbread creation will be available through silent auction, with proceeds benefiting Museum programs and exhibitions. The display and the opportunity to bid on the structures are FREE to the public during regular Museum hours.

1st All Aboard! The Polar Express

Get up, get on, and get ready for the ride of your life. The story of the Polar Express will be performed to the delight of the young passengers. At the end: All will believe!! Two Performances: 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. on the passenger car in the Museum's Transportation exhibit area. Cost: $7 per child; $5 for a member's child (children must be in their pajamas and must have their "Golden Ticket" to board the train). No adults will board the train.* Space is limited to 36 children per performance. After each performance, children and their parents will be treated with hot chocolate and cookies in the Museum's Rotunda courtesy of Tastefully Yours, LLC., with an appearance from a special Christmas guest!!! *All accompanying adults will be charged regular admission except for members of the Museum.

Jimmie Dyess Symposium

The symposium will include remarks by Major General Perry Smith, who is the son-in-law of Jimmie Dyess. Three individuals will be honored with the Symposium's 2020 Distinguished American Award. Honorees and speakers for 2020 will be announced soon. Immediately after the ceremony, you will have the opportunity to meet and visit with the honorees.

Night at the Museum

The Augusta Museum of History presents the 7th annual Night at the Museum, a fundraiser that supports the Museum's preservation and exhibition efforts. Come experience an evening of mystery at Augusta's very own Night at the Museum, where history comes to life! Guests will be guided through the darkened museum to encounter 10 historical figures from the Augusta region and listen to their stories from the past. The ticket includes performances and a commemorative Night at the Museum glass.
