The Augusta Museum of History is proud to have Augusta local legend, Astronaut Susan Still Kilrain, at the Museum for a FREE book reading and signing on Saturday, February 17th at 10:00am. (Doors open at 9:45am.) Commander Susan Still Kilrain is an astronaut, a Navy test pilot, an aerospace engineer and a world traveler. She is the youngest person to pilot the space shuttle, and one of only three women to do so. Susan piloted space shuttle missions STS-83 and STS-94, spending more that twenty days in space. Susan is currently a motivational speaker, specializing in encouraging young women and underprivileged teens to excel in STEM careers. Susan will read her book, An Unlikely Astronaut in the Museum Rotunda. Books are $20.00 and available for pre-purchase through the link below. To celebrate the day we will offer free crafts in the Garden City Room after the Book Reading from 10:30am-12:00pm Make sure you put this date on your calendar.
