Description

Award given to Jimmy Spears when he was inducted into the Georgia Water Ski Hall of Fame in 2001.

Jimmy served as President of the Augusta Water Ski Club for 15 years and was instrumental in bringing the Pro Water Ski tournaments to Lake Olmstead in 1987 and 1988. He served on the Augusta Port Authority and received an Award from Mayor Charles DeVaney for making Professional Water Ski Tournaments possible in Augusta. Jimmy is credited for teaching many in this area to water ski. He was a competitive water skier, show skier, judge and boat driver for over 35 years. Jimmy served on the Master Craft Boats Promotional Team for 20 years and was an American Water Ski Association Senior Driver, the highest rating a boat driver can achieve.
