Description

A navy blue wool nurse's cape with a red wool interior. The letters "UH" are embroidered on the collar. This was given to Margaret (Jernigan) Daniel when she graduated the nursing program at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Her initials "M.L.J." are stitched on a blue label on the cape's interior. There is also a maker's label that reads "Hi -N- Dri / Anti Pluie / Rain Proof". She was nurse from 1935 until 1942 at University Hospital.

Margaret Jernigan Daniel was born June 4, 1917 and died September 10, 1998. She is interred in Westover Cemetery.
