Augusta's Fire Company No 2

Artist/Creator

Frank Christian

Date

1920s to 1930s

Description

In their dress uniforms, these eight brave men of Fire Company Number 2 fought fires with a 1921 American LaFrance 750 gallon triple combination motor pump. As one can see, the truck was equipped with hooks, ladders, and hoses. No longer on a brick paved street, the old building featured here at 902 Ninth Street has ceased operation as a firehouse but is still maintained as part of Dyess Park.
