Description

A long, black velvet dress with short, lace sleeves and a drop neckline. The dress has large, diamond-shape segments of black lace in the front and back of the dress. The large segments of black lace are joined to the black velvet with a wavy edge design. The dress gathers at the waist and has a cross fold of fabric across the chest. The dress also has a short train at the back of black velvet and lace. The dress was owned by Bertha Miller Barrett, wife of Thomas Barrett Jr.
