Description

Circular white bone china dinner plate with 1/2 inch gold trim surrounding all edges. Inner 1mm floral gold trim. Between outer and inner rim are the owner's monogram "LdelAR". The owner of this set was Louise DeLaigle (de l'Aigle) Seyd Reese. She was a prominent Augustan who donated money for the creation of the sexton's lodge at Magnolia Cemetery.

On reverse of plate is a purple ink logo for Mintons / Tiffany&Co / New York / Made in England. Off to the side of the globe logo is an impressed mark with "Mintons" and the number 8 encircled, an equilateral cross, and the letter "F". Above logo handwritten in red ink is written the following "H 1032 / 3".

This plate is part of a larger donation of six more Tiffany/Mintons dinner plates and a hand-painted Haviland & Co. (Limoge) saucer.
