Brother Nicholas Mary opened Boys' Catholic High School in Augusta, Georgia in September 1939. The building assigned for the school and brothers' residence on Telfair Street was constructed in 1850 and had been used as a hospital during the Civil War. This structure served as school and brothers' residence for eighteen years.
