It is difficult to say how much time it would take to visit the Museum. So much depends on the age and interests of those in your group. As a general rule though, it takes approximately an hour to an hour and a half.

Accessible parking for vehicles displaying the appropriate disability permits is located in the parking lot. This parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is also a drop-off only area, allowing a driver to drop a disabled passenger off at the entrance to the museum. A wheelchair is available free of charge, on a first-come, first-serve basis, inside the entrance. The second floor of the Museum is accessible by elevator. The Museum is also equipped with accessible restrooms, and drinking fountains.

Free parking is available in the Museum's main parking lot. We do ask that oversized vehicles such as buses and RV's use the area of the parking lot that is farthest from the 6th street entrance. Additional large vehicle parking is available on the Reynolds street side of the building.

Unfortunately the Museum does not have an on-site eating establishment, or outside area for picnic lunches. The Augusta Riverwalk is located across the street from the Museum and offers space for outdoor eating.

No. Strollers are permitted but the Museum does not supply strollers to visitors.

Unless otherwise posted, you are welcome to take pictures of Museum exhibitions for personal use with hand-held cameras, however there is NO FLASH allowed. Please refrain from using your flash in the galleries. No photography for commerical purposes is permitted without the express, written permission of the Augusta Museum of History.
